Video Premiere: Tove Lo - Habits (Stay High)
In a desperate attempt to get over her ex, Tove Lo loses herself to a life of hard partying involving heavy drinking and getting high in the graphic visual for the Swedish sensation's breakthrough single entitled "Habits (Stay High)". The song was written by Tove Lo in the immediate aftermath of her breakup and, according to the singer herself, is based on her own personal experiences. The track was produced by The Struts, Jakob Jerlström and Ludvig Söderberg. It was originally released as Tove Lo's second single "Habits" on March 25, 2013 and later re-released on December 6, 2013 under the title "Habits (Stay High)" due to the popularity of a remix of the song titled "Stay High" featuring Hippie Sabotage. It is featured on both Tove Lo's debut EP 'Truth Serum', released on March 3, 2014 and her debut studio album 'Queen of the Clouds', released on September 30, 2014 via Island Records.
In the Motellet-directed music video, Tove Lo reenacts the story portrayed in the song's lyrics. She wakes up after a night of partying and despite a really bad hangover she goes bar-hopping with a group of friends to get wasted again and give herself to a lifestyle of dangerous drug use and habitual debauchery.
