Video Premiere: Mila J - Times Like These
Mila J is a ride-or-die chick that stands by her man in times of crisis in the cinematic visual for her new single "Times Like These", lifted from the R&B songstress's recently released 5-track EP 'M.I.L.A.', which debuted last week in the top 5 on the iTunes R&B Charts and is currently sitting at number 4 with her younger sister Jhené Aiko holding the number 2 spot with the deluxe version of her debut studio album 'Souled Out'. "Times Like These" is a soulful ballad written by Mila J, real name Jamila Chilombo and Eric “Cire” Crawford who also produced the track together with Brad Kershaw.
The Blue Gregory-directed music video features a story of a young couple played by Mila J and fellow Los Angeles singer-songwriter Kevin McCall, who go through financial difficulties when the man, who's clearly the breadwinner, loses his job and his car gets repossessed. He turns to drug dealing in order to make fast money and eventually gets caught by the police and arrested. He refuses to cooperate with the authorities so the cops raid their place and, in a surprising twist, Mila J ends up taking the fall.
